SUN FULL SUN FULL SUN: Nicholas Robins April 14 2014
Nicholas Robins’ thesis exhibition, SUN FULL SUN FULL SUN, features a series of works that meditate on light’s hopeful, healing properties.
With colour spectrums, dazzling reflections and dreamy projections, Robins reveals the invisible magic of white light. Robins' practice is influenced by California’s Light and Space movement, pioneered by James Turell, Robert Irwin and others who sought to create the experience of seeing yourself see. Its sensory perception in psychedelic Technicolor.
Our own desensitized, digital age has made us thirsty for this kind of visceral visual experiences. That the exhibition title itself reads as an affirmative mantra or spell confirms Robins' earnest commitment to affect and transform.
